Why did you choose Coaching?
The play I was supposed to participate in was delayed again, it was cold and winter. Needed a loving push to get on with my life.
How was the period of Coaching?
Instructive, uplifting, exiting, confronting – had to get into a new state of mind where action must take place – and not only to think and to talk – it requires action on all dreams and wishes, something that I always have done, but now I have more faith in what I set out to do.
When you have another person in front of you, with whom you make agreements, it helps you to take time to feel. You get tools and exercises in order to get on the right track, it is something quite different than to cope with it all by yourself. It has been fantastic .....
What are the three most important things you have learned?
That everything comes from me – I cannot blame the world and let others take the responsibility. If I want something - I have to act, everybody knows that, I suppose, but there is a difference of knowing something and of experiencing it on your own body.
To forgive myself is the most important I have learned ... in one exercise I should forgive myself for a relationship that did not function, I should forgive myself, my errors and that I did not act. It was a huge relief though it was very difficult – one of the greatest reliefs/ experiences for a long time. It is a long time (several years) having kept this inside.
That love/ forgiveness can mean so much. That to forgive others as well; it brings peace if you really feel the genuineness of it.
What are the three biggest victories?
It was more on the inside than on the outside as such. I have found a new way of motivating myself with all the things I want to achieve. I have been on a small big journey, where I have picked tools and instruments, which have helped me further along the road.
I have learned to specify my goals regarding all aspects of my life ... and now I use a method to deal with things in a more simple and manageable way than before. Liberating!
I have made my decision to apply for admission at the university combining it with acting, something I always wanted, now I have done it in a much more mellowed way.
But perhaps most important of all: It is not at all that risky to be alive. The goals exist, the exercises are sharpened and the only thing that holds you back is fear. Awareness reduces fear.
Did you miss any support between sessions?
Our starting point was every time: Where are you now? And that was cool, but it might have been cool too, if we had made a follow-up on the things we spoke of the last time and our commitments, so you get a feeling of continuity.
Goals and plans, which were achieved, which were not?
I have applied for university and will combine it with the acting. I shall partipate in several productions while I am studying – it will be hard, but quite fantastic to have an artistic as well as an academic education and experience, which I am able to use now and in the future. It gives bigger opportunities and it CAN be done.
I am doing more physical training and are getting more healthy food.
I have forgiven myself for the old relationship and I feel that I can start a new one. I am not so scared of being alone as before. Amazing!
I have come further on from a smaller winter depressive condition, have a more positive view of the world, have learned to take more responsibility for myself.
Have got a nice, new job, so I no longer have to work so much in the old job, which I was pretty tired of. Now I can combine them and the variation is satisfying. In that way I am not that tired of the old job.
There might be several more things, but these are the most important ones.
Can you describe the feeling of yourself from before until now?
I was quite hard on myself earlier and was lacking belief that everything was going to be alright. Now I am happier, have more energy and are not afraid of acting.
All the plans and goals I have can actually be done by doing the right tasks and solve them one at a time.
What is the most important thing that happened to you?
That I have forgiven myself.
Did you achieve Personal ROI ( Return on Investment) in terms of time/investments?
Yes, absolutely, I think so. I would not have been without this course, because everything comes from me, but I needed help to get there – and that I got!
How should the Coaching improve for a new round?
As said before: Maybe a more slavish follow-up on things – you go through so many issues from time to time during the session and it was sometimes hard for me to get the full picture from one time to the next.
I am going to work with one specific thing in a course instead of many, now that I have been through the superior problems. To study one subject in depth.
How effective are you now?
I take one thing at a time instead of twenty and I actually gain more this way. You can always be more effective and I still want to be more effective on all fields, but I am working on it and will always do so.
Would you like to be coached again?
YES! I can easily come up with something!
Personal development, insights and shifts you have experienced?
I don´t have to have obtained all my goals to be popular and respected; if I achieve them all, it is simply fantastic. I feel now that the most important thing is that I feel good, and that when I do something it is because I feel like doing it – not because I have to.
The most important is to work out of spirit and energy.
Something else you want to say?
I want to thank you, Mads. I feel that I owe you for helping me so much on the right track – even if I know it is your job.
You take a personal engagement in your coaching, that makes one feel appreciated, heard and taken seriously in a way I value highly. At the same time we can have fun, chat and laugh and talk about other things, too, that ends up in a wonderful, easy, playful, impulsive atmosphere that I love.
Your positive energy and your drive are fantastic and catching. One wants to coached by you; you sense exactly where I am.
